Options

There are a few coil options available allowing you to personalise your vaping experience:

  • 0.48 Ohm Plexus Z Coils are made of a thinner mesh which offers a larger surface area which allows for faster wicking, avoidance of hot spots and increased vapour production and flavour. They also have a longer life than other Z coils. They work best with higher VG e-liquids and it is recommended that they are used with a 13-16W power output.
  • 0.8 Ohm mesh coils are best for a warmer vape and are suited for restricted direct to lung (DTL) vaping. They produce bigger and denser vapour clouds and work best with higher VG e-liquids. It is recommended that they are used with a 15-18W power output.
  • 1.2 Ohm coils are designed for mouth to lung vaping and offer a slightly airier draw. They work well with nic salts and are best used at 10-14W
  • 1.6 Ohm are best for a cooler vape and are designed for mouth to lung (MTL) vaping and works best with nicotine salts and 50/50 blends. It is recommended that they are used with a 10-14W power output.

Important Advice

Coils with a resistance less than 1 Ohm are classified as sub-ohm coils and therefore it is recommended that these should only be used by experienced vapers. These coils need a lot more power and generate larger vapour clouds so it is best to use e-liquids with a high VG content. It is also recommended vapers use a maximum nicotine strength of 6mg due to the larger amounts of vapour produced.

Which Coil Resistance Should I Choose?

1. Higher Resistance Coils

  • These are usually recommended for beginners
  • They give a smoother throat hit
  • They require less power
  • They use less e-liquid
  • They create less vapour
  • If your coil is over 1 Ohm, you should use high PG e-liquids or 50/50 blends

2. Lower Resistance Coils

  • These are best used for sub-ohm vaping
  • They give a stronger throat hit
  • They require more power
  • They use more e-liquid
  • They create bigger vapour clouds

If your coil is less than 1 Ohm you can use high VG e-liquids

Coils with a resistance less than 1 Ohm are classified as sub-ohm coils and therefore it is recommended that these should only be used by experienced vapers. These coils need a lot more power and generate larger vapour clouds so it is best to use e-liquids with a high VG content. It is also recommended vapers use a maximum nicotine strength of 6mg due to the larger amounts of vapour produced.

How Do I Know When To Change My Coil?

This can vary from one device to another depending on the resistance of your coil, heat levels, e-liquids and amount of time it is used. However, on average coils should last 1-3 weeks but this help sheet should give you an idea of some signs that may suggest now is the time to change your coil!
